A horse farm is a farm which specialized in horse breeding. It also practises activities bound to the practice of horse riding and to equestrian tourism. Most of horse farms are farms developing a range of unique tourism products with very strong identity. In this context, the horse, often born on the farm is not just used to practice a sport but also to discover the region, its heritage, its culture, its traditions, and its entire biodiversity.
The equestrian farms diversify their products around the outdoor riding practice and tourist facilities (accommodation / food). In fact, the services offered by the operator beyond the classical teaching of horse riding (dressage career or riding) are offered as products in the form of courses from several hours to several days to discover the horse and the region. The activity period runs from April to October, with peak activity in summer and during school holidays. The winter period is often devoted to dressage horse breeding even if a small course of activity is maintained for a regular clientele.
With you, we worked on the horses farm ...
During our internship at the horses farm, we took care of the horses in the morning and in the afternoon we practiced riding in beautiful horseback riding.
The morning work was exciting : with the horse groom, we have groomed the horses (shower, brushing ...), and we learned to heal and to do some nursing currents. The groom healer is the one who comes daily horses in the paddock. In the afternoon, we were guided by the equestrian coach for wonderful horse rides. It is also he who has charge of the horses team on the farm and of the stable. The last days of the course, we had a few hours of training with horses. The farm horses is a fantastic place !
